This is my first post to my website from my Droid X. Now that I have an app that allows me to easily post here I will probably post more often.

I’m starting to really get into this show. Ever since I watched the BBC documentary Faces I have been interested in Paul Ekman, Ph.D.’s work. He is the Dr. for whom the show is based.

I just got a BlackBerry Storm yesterday and I love it!!! Here is a video I found of someone testing the scratch resistance of the Storm. It doesn’t look like it can be scratched easily which is a good thing.

Veronica hit me with a photo meme, so I’m honor bound to continue the tradition. Here are the rules:
“It works like this: if you use Flickr, go to the sixth page of your photostream and pick the sixth picture there, then post it to your blog.”
OK! You see the result above, mine is a picture from the ruminants of Hurricane Ike.
Now it’s time for the fun part, its your turn to do the same. If you don’t carry on the meme, just know that you’ll have utterly let me down and that we may never be friends again. No pressure or anything!

How fast is your internet? I’m lucky to be running at 15Mbps.

On Tuesday (6/17/08) Firefox will try to set a world record of the most downloads in one day. They will be launching Firefox 3 and want to see how many people they can get to download it on the first day. I’ve been using Firefox 3 since RC1 and it is great! Way better than version 2 and there is no contest versus Internet Explorer. I’ll be doing my part on Tuesday to help set a world record, and so should you. I like to take pictures, especially now that I have a digital camera. I have a Kodak EasyShare V1253. It is 12MP and takes video at 720P HD. Its a great camera, I have no complaints.
Up until now, I didn’t really have a good and quick way to share all my pictures and video. I had heard of flickr, especially from Cali Lewis of GeekBrief.tv, but I just thought it was another one of those Internet fades that come and go so quickly. So one day I found a program called Jing, through a GeekBrief episode. This program does a great job and screen captures as well as capturing what is happening on the screen with video, and then sharing that online so you can send it to others quickly and easily. I found this useful for helping my Dad with his computer. I digress, Jing has a way to upload the pics directly to flickr. Because of this and the fact that flickr is free, I decided to give it a try. After only a few minutes of playing around I loved it. My first thought was that it would be perfect for my Dad to share pictures online with friends and family so he doesn’t clog up their e-mail when he wants to show his pics off. Only a couple days after I had bought my Dad a Pro account on flickr, I decided to buy myself a Pro account as well. Well I love it, I have over 400 pictures uploaded and I am even a member of the World Wildlife Funds flickr group.
Then, just this month, flickr decided to add video as well. I am so happy that they have done this. With the camera that I have I like to take lots of stills and then some video. They do have a limitation of 90 seconds but so far this hasn’t been a problem, most of my videos that I have fit right in.
Now I get to show off my pictures and videos to my friends, family and people who I don’t know. If you like to take pictures or short videos, check flickr out, its free so what could it hurt?
Until next time,
DAN
